“I was blessed with coming to Victory Acres the day I was released from incarceration. From that first day, I've been shown nothing but love and support. Victory Acres allowed me to contribute my time to further the organization in a manner that showed trust. They trusted me, accepted me, and allowed me to regain confidence in my ability to be a contributing member of society. I have never been treated as a "convict." I've instead been treated as a person, a friend, and a family member. I've had dinner with the board members. Celebrated holidays with them. Even cried with them. They've taught me that it's ok to stumble and fall, but it's what you do to get back up. They've counseled me, mentored me, and encouraged me to nurture and pursue my dreams. Victory Acres doesn't say "you can't do that." Victory Acres asks "how can WE make this happen?" I've since enrolled in seminary school. Am preparing to take the exam to become a Certified Peer Recovery Coach. And have begun, with their help, to start my own business. I will live and die by the virtues and values that Victory Acres is built on. Victory Acres has saved my life. They are doing God's work and I am blessed and honored to be a part of it.”

“Victory Acres has helped me on my journey to independence by providing affordable living accommodations and a safe environment. Tom and Helen have helped me with my transportation while I was waiting to get my drivers license. Tom has taught me how to operate machinery and some basic growing and building techniques. I really like it here. They have provided a great environment for anyone who needs help with re entry into society, by giving them responsibility and structure.

I enjoy donating my time here and I’m sure I have plenty more to learn from Victory Acres.”

“Me and my fiance were living in a tent. It is now fall and winter is fast approaching. Victory Acres provided us with a home to share with others that were in dire straits. We were surprised and joyed to find the home furnished not only with beds and linens, but all cooking and serviceware, as well as a washer and dryer. Unfortunately, when spring arrived we could not stay with Victory Acres. We moved out to try and start again, but we are thankful for what was provided and wish Victory Acres well.”

“Tom Vickroy and VICTORY ACRES have given me the tools and knowledge to learn, grow, and succeed. Tom and John are pillars to their community and like the product they produce, they’re all about growth.”

“Victory Acres has played an instrumental role in my return into society. Had it not been for everyone involved with Victory Acres, I would have not been able to accomplish the tasks to achieve the status of being a functional part of society once again. I would like to give a special thank you to Tom and Helen Vickroy. Without your love, patience, and belief in me, I wouldn’t have had the success I’ve had.”
